Batu, 8 November 2024 – In order to appreciate the historical and spiritual values possessed by one of the religious sites in Batu, we are interested in exploring the history of the Carmelite Church, Batu, East Java. This activity also aims to strengthen togetherness and understanding of the rich history and spiritual traditions of the area.
The Carmel Church is located in the cool Batu mountain area and is full of natural beauty. Founded in the mid-20th century, this church features elegant classical architecture and has several statues and distinctive ornaments that reflect the distinctive style of the Carmelite tradition. Known as a place of prayer and pilgrimage for Catholics, this church is also an important witness to a faith journey with a rich history.
During the visit, participants were given an explanation of the history of the founding of this church, which is part of the Carmelite mission to spread the message of peace and love.
