Pontianak – October 3, 2024. In celebration of the 14th Anniversary of Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center and the 12th Anniversary of Transera Hotel Pontianak, a blood donation drive was held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Khatulistiwa Room, 1st Floor, in collaboration with PMI (Indonesian Red Cross) Pontianak. This event, held regularly, aims to help meet the demand for blood at PMI’s Blood Bank. According to data from PMI Pontianak's website, approximately 150 bags of blood are needed daily to supply 15 hospitals in the city.

The event, which ran from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, received enthusiastic participation from members of the military, police, hospitality workers, hotel staff, and the general public. With over 100 participants, the drive successfully collected 90 bags of blood. Additionally, the Puskesmas Gang Sehat Health Clinic provided free blood sugar level checks during the event.

Anto W. Soemartono, General Manager of Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center, expressed his gratitude to everyone involved. “We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary support from donors and PMI Pontianak. Through this blood donation drive, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to those in need of medical assistance, aligning with our anniversary theme this year, ‘Home for Everyone.’ This initiative reflects the caring values we continuously uphold,” he said.

Udik Setiadi, General Manager of Transera Hotel, also appreciated the attendees who made the event lively. “This initiative is part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts by Aston Pontianak and Transera Hotel, demonstrating our commitment to public health and well-being. The voluntary participation of hotel employees and the community exemplifies the spirit of togetherness and solidarity in helping others,” he added.

The blood donation drive is part of a series of events leading up to the 14th anniversary celebration of Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center on October 10. Prior events included a General Cleaning and a Home-Cooked Meal Competition among employees. Upcoming activities include a Friendly Mini Soccer Match with Transera Hotel and a Cooking Class for children from a local orphanage.
