As a way to appreciate Indonesia's cultural heritage, various ways to celebrate National Batik Day have been carried out, one of which is creating batik-themed food and beverages at the Canary restaurant, Aston Priority Simatupang hotel on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 12:00 to 14:30.
Throughout October 2024, the Aston Priority Simatupang hotel has a grand theme of Indonesian Cultural Heritage with a series of events, one of which is the Coffee Culture Experience at the Canary restaurant for two days from October 1-2, 2024. On October 2, 2024, the Coffee Culture Experience has a special theme called "A Cup of Batik", which is the art of painting on coffee or commonly known as latte art, but using batik motifs as decorations on top of the coffee.
The hotel's barista distributed these "A Cup of Batik" coffees to approximately 400 visitors who attended the lunch. During the event, the hotel collaborated with partner vendors PT. Architama Catu Nusa and PT. Classic Fine Foods to provide premium quality beverage ingredients.
In addition to beverages, the hotel's pastry team also served a variety of desserts such as pies, puddings, matcha mousse, tiramisu, and more, with batik-patterned decorations.
"Batik may have originated from fashion, but in our opinion, batik is more than just fashion. Batik is a philosophical work of art that can be combined into other art products, one of which is processed food and beverages. Therefore, we try to present something different, because batik can not only be used for clothing, but can also be eaten by being made into food products," commented Andi Gevika Rizki, General Manager of ASTON Priority Simatupang.
