Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in Indonesia and around the world. Given its popularity, there is a special day dedicated to celebrating coffee internationally every October 1st.
Participating in this global celebration, Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel held a two-day event titled "Coffee Culture Experience" on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 1-2, 2024, at the Canary Restaurant. The event took place during lunchtime, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and was attended by over 400 restaurant guests.
With an interactive educational concept, Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel, in collaboration with its partner vendor PT. Architama Catu Nusa, provided education on the coffee-making process from bean to cup. This included the various stages from coffee beans still on the tree to ground coffee ready to be brewed, the differences between Arabica and Robusta beans, and guests were even able to try their hand at creating their own coffee blends.
In addition, the 4-star hotel also offered workshops on making mocktails during the "Coffee Culture Experience" event. In collaboration with PT. Classic Fine Foods guests learned more about the mocktail-making process, from selecting ingredients, mixing, and serving, to tips on creating delicious flavor combinations, including coffee-based mocktails.
On October 2, 2024, the Coffee Culture Experience had a special theme: "A Cup of Batik" to coincide with National Batik Day. "A Cup of Batik" is the art of painting on coffee, commonly known as latte art, but using batik motifs as decorations on the coffee.
"In celebration of International Coffee Day and coinciding with National Batik Day, Aston Priority Simatupang is providing coffee-related educational activities that we hope will add value and knowledge about coffee for our guests. Additionally, we want to educate guests that coffee can be processed or creatively transformed into anything, one example being batik-patterned latte art. And for those who check in on October 1 and 2, 2024, there will be a special coffee welcome drink themed 'Kisah Kopi' (Coffee Story) at 12:00 PM," commented Andi Gevika Rizki, General Manager of ASTON Priority Simatupang.
