Kupang, October 2024 - Indonesia celebrates National Batik Day as a form of appreciation for its rich and diverse cultural heritage. Batik, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, is not only a symbol of national identity but also an important part of the daily lives of the Indonesian people.
This year, the theme for National Batik Day celebrations is "Batik for All," which invites all staff to get to know, love, and preserve batik. Various activities will be held, including group photos and collaborative content, involving staff from the Back Office, Front Office, and Food and Beverage Departments.
This activity aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving batik as a cultural asset of the nation. By understanding and appreciating batik, we contribute to safeguarding a cultural heritage that has existed for centuries.
"We hope that through this celebration, the younger generation will become more acquainted with and love batik. Additionally, we want to encourage local artisans to continue creating and innovating modern batik designs while still emphasizing traditional values," said Schoniya Hutsim, Marketing Communication.
Let us celebrate National Batik Day together by wearing batik, whether at formal events or in our daily lives. In doing so, we support the creative industry and batik artisans throughout Indonesia.
