Pontianak, 25 September 2024 – In commemoration of World Cleanup Day, which fell on September 20, 2024, and marking the start of the 14th Anniversary series, Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center held a General Cleaning activity focusing on the exterior areas of the hotel. This initiative is part of Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center's commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment, while also supporting the global movement for environmental preservation.

Under the theme "Home for Everyone," this year's anniversary celebration not only focuses on internal festivities but also aims to make a positive impact on the surrounding environment and community by maintaining cleanliness together. The General Cleaning activity involved all hotel employees, from management to operational staff, who worked together to clean the outer areas of the hotel, extending to the back of the building (Kedah Street).

Arifin, PR Manager and Chairman of the 14th Anniversary Committee of Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center, stated that this activity is part of the hotel’s social responsibility. "We initially planned to hold it on September 20, coinciding with World Cleanup Day, but due to the hotel's busy schedule on that day, we carried it out on September 24," he said. "Aston Pontianak is always committed to providing a clean and comfortable environment for guests, employees, and the surrounding community. Through this General Cleaning activity, we not only aim to beautify the hotel area but also contribute to the World Cleanup Day movement, which aligns with our anniversary theme, 'Home for Everyone' – that Aston is a welcoming and clean home for all," he added.

World Cleanup Day is a global movement involving millions of people worldwide in environmental cleanup activities. With its active participation in this commemoration, Aston Pontianak hopes to inspire the local community to care more about environmental cleanliness and to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining cleanliness as part of everyday life.

This activity is also part of the series of events leading up to Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center's 14th Anniversary celebration on October 10. In addition to the General Cleaning, before the peak celebration on October 10, 2024, there will be a Blood Donation event, a Home Cooking Competition for employees, a Friendly Match of Mini Soccer with Transera Hotel, and a Cooking Class with children from local orphanages.
