Aston Palu Hotel held its first-ever Kids Cooking Class, an exciting event aimed at introducing children to the world of cooking and honing their culinary skills. The inaugural class took place on July 21, 2024, and was a lively event attended by 30 children aged 3 to 10 years.
During the Kids Cooking Class, each child was accompanied by their parents. The children appeared enthusiastic as they participated in the activities prepared by the hotel. Professional chefs from Aston Palu led the cooking class, offering tips and tricks that were easy for the kids to understand. Chef Silva introduced the ingredients for the pizza toppings that would be used in the class.
The menu for this Kids Cooking Class was pizza decorating. Before decorating the pizzas, the participants received education from the chef on how to decorate the pizzas. After the tutorial, the children were given time to decorate their pizzas according to their own creations. They then made their pizzas under the chef’s guidance, who also explained the cooking process until the pizzas were baked and ready to be enjoyed.
Throughout the Kids Cooking Class, the children had the chance to try each step in the pizza decorating process themselves, and they were very excited while doing so. In addition to decorating pizzas, the participants were able to enjoy their creations with their accompanying parents. To add to the fun, Aston Palu also awarded swim vouchers to three of the most creative participants.
Rizky Putri, Assistant Marcom Manager, explained that the Kids Cooking Class was organized to make school vacation time more beneficial. It also aimed to strengthen the relationship between guests and Aston Palu Hotel through attractive promotional offers.
"Aston Palu held the Kids Cooking Class, our first event of 2024. Another goal is to develop children's cooking skills, test their patience, and build their self-confidence," said Rizky Putri.
By participating in this event, it is hoped that the children will feel proud when they successfully prepare dishes for themselves. This experience can also be applied at home, fostering a stronger bond between children and parents.
“There are many benefits to this event, primarily enhancing children's creativity in cooking. Additionally, they learn about the importance of cleanliness and organization while cooking,” she added.
Rizky mentioned that the Kids Cooking Class would return on August 17, 2024, with a more exciting menu for the children in celebration of Indonesia's Independence Day.
“With events like this, Aston Palu hopes to contribute positively to the development of children's creativity and introduce them to the culinary world from an early age,” she concluded.
