Participating in the Kids Barista Class activity at the First Smart Hotel in East Java, Aston Inn Jemursari, on July 28, 2024, was a fantastic way to spend Sunday, synonymous with Family Day.

Additionally, a mocktail-making event with basic ingredients like chocolate syrup and strawberry syrup was hosted at the Juliet Rose Sky Lounge. The vibrant activity ran from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with Derik Irawan, the restaurant and banquet manager, opening the event. Participants received materials, tips, and aprons as part of the experience.

Eleven enthusiastic participants were eager to practice creating two mocktails with various base components and finished by decorating them with foam or garnishes. In a gesture of appreciation for their parents, the participants were encouraged to prepare the drinks independently, without parental assistance and then present their crafted beverages directly to their parents.

'This event offered a unique opportunity for parents and children to learn outside the traditional home and school settings, especially after the recent school holidays as kids return to their educational routines. It provided valuable insights into creating drink menus at home,' said Harmeka Riva, who had registered her six- and ten-year-old children for the class.

Derik Irawan, F&B Manager of Aston Inn Jemursari said, 'Usually, we host Cooking Classes, but this time, we wanted to give the children a different experience by making drinks with ingredients commonly found at home. We hope today's event will inspire parents and benefit everyone involved.'
