Surakarta, July 2024 - Archipelago International has launched another thematic food and beverage program with the theme “Local Twist Beverages & Asian Snacks.” Aston Solo Hotel, as one of the hotels under Indonesia’s largest hotel group, is participating in this program by introducing three new must-try menus: Es Kapal Djoeang, Asian Platter, and Nasi Berkat Empat Lima. These three menus combine local flavors with culinary delights from several Asian countries.

Es Kapal Djoeang is a traditional drink from Solo city, inspired by the Indonesian independence struggle ship, symbolizing national spirit. Served with bread, this drink offers a combination of sweet, savory, and refreshing flavors, perfect for enjoying throughout the day.

The Asian Platter features a selection of snacks from several Asian countries. This platter includes Middle Eastern-style cheese and meat murtabak, Korean-style banana tteok & chicken gimmari, and Japanese-style isobe yaki. The platter offers a delicious combination of savory, sweet, and chewy flavors.

Nasi Berkat Empat Lima is a traditional Indonesian dish typically served at thanksgiving events or celebrations. This dish consists of red and white rice, served with various accompaniments such as stewed beef, salted fish, green chili vermicelli, boiled eggs, stir-fried pumpkin, and crispy tempeh. Nasi Berkat Empat Lima symbolizes gratitude and togetherness, offering a blend of savory, spicy, and sweet flavors in every bite.

Chef Agus, the Executive Sous Chef of Aston Solo Hotel, said, “The inspiration behind these new menus comes from our desire to present a fusion of traditional and contemporary flavors to our guests. We hope these dishes not only satisfy the palate but also evoke nostalgia and pride in our rich cultural heritage.”
