Semarang, July 5, 2024 – At the beginning of July, Aston Inn Pandanaran Semarang introduces two new menu creations from our Food & Beverage team, featuring sea fish and seaweed, and a modern twist on a popular beverage.
Our first new dish is a light snack made from mackerel and seaweed, called Crunchy Seaweed. Mackerel is a name for a group of fish from the Scombridae family, closely related to tuna and Spanish mackerel. Commonly mistaken for sardines, mackerel has dark, oily skin and pink flesh. Mackerel is known for its health benefits, such as being a source of vitamin D for bone health and containing omega-3 fatty acids for heart health. Inspired by the trending Korean seaweed snacks of 2024, Executive Chef Ganjar Trisaputra created Crunchy Seaweed, which features ground mackerel fried with nori (seaweed) and served with sesame mayo sauce.
The second creation is a fresh beverage, Es Teler, which is already popular among the public. Our F&B team has reimagined Es Teler with a modern twist while maintaining its classic taste, meeting the standards of a star-rated hotel. Ingredients such as jackfruit, basil seeds, nata de coco, avocado, milk, coconut water, and vanilla syrup make this a refreshing choice, perfect to accompany lunch or dinner at 40 Lane Cafe.
"We will continue to innovate and create to provide the best for our guests, so everyone, especially the people of Semarang, can enjoy our offerings," said Executive Chef Ganjar Trisaputra.
