Semarang, July 6, 2024 – As the school holidays began at the end of June, Aston Inn Pandanaran Semarang presents a program that combines educational and entertaining values, namely Kids Table Manner.
June to July is a special time for school children as they enjoy long holidays. They need a means to fill their free time with positive activities, which prompted Aston Inn Pandanaran Semarang to create an innovative Kids Table Manner program. This activity is divided into two batches: Batch 1 on June 29, 2024, and Batch 2 on July 13, 2024.
The first batch, held on June 29, 2024, was successfully organized with 50 child participants. The event, starting at 10:00 AM, was opened by MCs Retno and Nina, who conducted ice-breaking activities to help the children play and have fun together, easing the atmosphere and encouraging interaction among participants. After the ice-breaking session, the children were guided to create sandwich creations led by Executive Chef Ganjar Trisaputra. They enthusiastically made sandwiches with their own creativity, some even crafting faces using ingredients like smoked beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and mayonnaise. They could take their sandwiches home after the event.
After creating sandwiches, the children enjoyed a live cooking demonstration of Spaghetti Carbonara by Chef Ganjar. Following this, they were entertained with a milkshake-making session by Ms. Regita from the F&B team. The children were very excited to learn how to make milkshakes, and at the end of the session, Ms. Regita shared the prepared milkshakes with the participants. Next, the children learned how to make beds properly with Mr. Darwin from the Housekeeping team.
After participating in various enjoyable activities, it was time for the children to learn table manners. Mr. Oni Almuchlisun Putra, the Restaurant & Banquet Manager, began by teaching them how to use napkins, followed by instructions for the appetizer of bread, then Avocado Smoked Salmon Salad, Creamy Corn Soup, the main course of Pan-Seared Chicken with Mushroom Sauce and mashed potatoes, and finally dessert including Fruit Pudding Stick, Oreo Ball, and Ice Cream, accompanied by Hot Chocolate.
"We are proud to make an innovative program this year to fill school holidays by combining entertainment and education through table manners. We also aim to introduce early dining etiquette to the children as the next generation," said Ibnoe Ichwan Chambali, General Manager.
