Jayapura, 20/02/2024 _ Located at the Numbay Ballroom of Aston Jayapura Hotel & Convention Center, Regional Head  Mr. Anthonius M Ayorbaba, accompanied by the head of the Mr Samosir Dual Immigration Division and the Head of Yankumham Human Rights Decision Mr Zuliansyah officially opened the socialization activity on Intellectual Property Business Strategy and Human Rights Through Intellectual Property Registration fo indigenous Papuans. This initiative was conducted in collaboration between the Directorate General General of Intellectual

 

Property affairs and the Directorate General of Human Rights, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.

 

The event featured resource persons such as Young Expert Policy Analyst Mr. Ibrahim Reza from the Directorate General of Human Right, Alongside Kakanwil Kemenkumham Papua Mr Anthonius M Ayorbaba The Keynote speech was delivered by the Director General of Human Rights, Dr. Dhahana Putra.

 

The participants of the event, consisting of the provincial Government of papua, South Papua, Central Papua, and Mountainous Papua, were addressed by the regional head in his opening remarks. He emphasized that the state, as the primary stakeholder in national development, has the obligation and responsibility to protect and restore human rights to achieve prosperity, peace, tranquility, and justice for the community.

 

“the state has a responsibilty as the primary stakeholder in national development to protect Human Right.” Said the regional head

 

Furthermore, the regional head, in his message, advised regional governments to consistently collaborate and coordinate efforts to promote business and human rights in their respective areas, ensuring that local communities benefit from business strategies implemented by private companies and state-owned enterprises in the papua region.

“let us always collaborate and coordinate efforts so that business strategies and human rights can benefit the people of papua,” he continued.

It is noteworthy that the Business and Human Rights task force has been established by five provinces : Aceh, Gorontalo, North Sulawesi Southeast Sulawesi, and Central Java. It is hoped that the papuan Province and the three new autonomous regions will be the next provinces to form a Business and Human Rights task force team. The event proceeded with panel discussions facilitated by the regional head of the regional office and Policy analyst Ibrahim Reza, with moderation by the head of the Yankumham Division.

Also present at the event were Law Head Ruben K, Samai, Human Rights head Mr. Fatrixs Manuafandu JFT and JFU at the Regional Office of the ministry of law and human rights Papua.
