Pontianak, July 24, 2022 – National Children's Day is celebrated every July 23 and was not missed by ASTON Pontianak this year. Together with the Chemistry Insight Center, Tanjungpura University, or what is known as CIC UNTAN, held a Fun Science Activity on July 23 and 24, 2022, at the Garden Lounge ASTON Pontianak. The activity took the theme Learning Science is Fun and was attended by 56 children with an age range of 5 years to 12 years.

"We are very happy to have the opportunity to give children the chance to learn science in a fun way, and ASTON Pontianak always supports positive activities for education like this," said Anto W Soemartono as General Manager of ASTON Pontianak when we met at the event. Chairperson of CIC UNTAN, Mrs. Intan Syahbanu, S.Si., M.Sc., said that in this Fun Science Activity, children were taught to experiment with making Aromatherapy Bath Bombs and Fruit Rainbow Soap accompanied by the CIC UNTAN team. "In addition to increasing knowledge and experience for children about science, this activity also teaches children how to dare to fail in trying to do something," she added.

Fahira, one of the children who took part, said she felt very happy participating in the Fun Science Activity because she made new friends and had fun trying the science experiments.

CIC UNTAN was established in April 2019. CIC is a public service program from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Tanjungpura University, which aims to provide educational services and assistance for the enrichment of natural sciences, especially chemistry, in theory, practice, academic writing, and product research in the field of chemistry.
