The culture of homecoming, or in Indonesia called 'Mudik' means returning to one's hometown to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the most awaited moment for all Muslims in Indonesian, especially for those who live permanently in big cities like Jakarta. So, what about those who didn't make it for Eid-homecoming? Jakarta had a variety of activities for the Eid holiday and was relatively quiet with many of its residents away for Eid-homecoming so traffic was lighter. The following activities took place during the Eid holiday in Jakarta:

1. Staycation in Jakarta with various activities

The best way to enjoy the holidays away from home was to have a staycation or stay at a star hotel and participate in various activities held during the Eid holiday period, like at ASTON Priority Simatupang. This 4-star hotel provided various fun activities for children and adults during the holidays. Here is their exciting, action-packed schedule:

Painting 'Ketupat' for Kids

'Ketupat' means the iconic Indonesian rice cake made from coconut leaves and packaged in a diamond shape. When you take children on holiday, some things make it more fun and memorable, such as activities they can take part in. During the Eid holiday period, ASTON Priority Simatupang provided 'ketupat' painting activities for children on Thursday, April 10, 2024, from 08:00 - 10:00 am at Canary Restaurant on the ground floor during breakfast.

Aqua Zumba for adults

ASTON Priority Simatupang provided Aqua Zumba activities for adults. For cardio sports lovers, of course Zumba is already familiar. Zumba movements can also be done in water, known as Aqua Zumba. The movements are simpler and slower, thereby minimizing injury, but are still fun done in the hotel swimming pool. Aqua Zumba was organized by ASTON Priority Simatupang on April 12 and 13, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:30 am.

Kids Playground

During the Eid period, ASTON Priority Simatupang provided a room specifically as a Kids Playground, complete with various types of games from 6 to April 14 2024 in Jagakarsa 1 room. This Kids Playground was free of charge for hotel guests and open from 08:00 to 18:00 am.

2. Traveling in Jakarta

Apart from a staycation, a must-do activity in Jakarta is traveling. Jakarta has a lot of history and culture, with various exciting tourist destinations to visit, such as Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Ragunan Zoo, Setu Babakan Betawi cultural tourism village, multiple museums, the Old City of Jakarta, culinary tourism in Petak Sembilan, the tourism spot of Pantai Indah Kapuk, the Thousand Islands destination, and many more.
