Pontianak, April 2, 2024 - As part of the commitment of ASTON Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center to strengthen corporate social responsibility and make a positive contribution to the community, and to embrace the month of Ramadan with love, ASTON Pontianak, together with EF Pontianak, Cantata Music School, and NEO Gajahmada, supported by Dompet Ummat, held a CSR activity titled BERCYANDA, which stands for Sharing Happiness with Orphaned and Underprivileged Children. This activity, held on Monday, April 1, 2024, invited 20 orphaned and underprivileged children from the Muharibul Kheir Orphanage located on Jalan Kom Yos Sudarso Gg Mangga 1. The schedule began at 14:30, with the children picked up and then taken to the Cantata Music School, followed by Learning Together with EF Pontianak, and continued with shopping at Mitra Anda Supermarket until the breaking of the fast together at ASTON Pontianak broke.
'We believe that every child deserves happiness, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. Through this activity, we provide children the opportunity to shop according to their wishes, to see and choose directly, like new clothes for Eid or the food they want,' said Arifin, the Public Relations Manager of ASTON Pontianak.
On this occasion, Endang Sri Ravina, the HR Manager of NEO Gajahmada, expressed that this activity is one way to contribute and make a positive impact on the community. 'We hope that this activity can become our annual tradition and that next year we can invite more children to shop,' she added.
Fiki, as he is nicknamed, is one of the children who participated in the shopping spree and expressed his joy and happiness from touring the Music School, learning English at EF Pontianak, to being able to buy Eid clothes. Similarly, young Tama, the youngest participant at 6 years old, was the most enthusiastic about the activity and shopping for new shoes, clothes, and snacks.
This Treat Orphaned Children to Shop activity is the second time it has been conducted during the month of Ramadan, in collaboration with EF Pontianak, Cantata Music School, NEO Gajahmada, and Dompet Ummat. The number of children treated to the shopping spree was 20, with ages ranging from 6 to 12 years old, coming from the Muharibul Kheir Orphanage.
