Archipelago International Combines Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with The Art of Cooking

Surabaya, 18 July 2023 - Archipelago International, together with ASTON Gresik Hotel & Conference Center, Favehotel Rungkut Surabaya, Favehotel Sidoarjo, and NEO+ Waru Sidoarjo, joyfully announces a unique collaboration that combines Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts with the art of cooking. This collaborative initiative aims to bring happiness and smiles to the faces of children. The event took place at UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri Surabaya and is expected to have a positive impact on the community while engaging in a satisfying culinary experience.
This unique cooking class aims to provide a fun and educational experience for the children, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and culinary skills. The event not only teaches them how to prepare delicious and nutritious dishes but also serves as a platform to create everlasting memories and build meaningful relationships. "Our initial goal in creating this CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is to equip the children of UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri Surabaya with culinary skills and a glimpse of the culinary industry as they grow up. Our hope is that the children at UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri Surabaya will have culinary businesses that can create job opportunities as well," said Chef Denny Frederick selaku Corporate Executive Chef Archipelago International.

The children of UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri Surabaya were incredibly enthusiastic about participating in the series of CSR activities. The event was filled with excitement, starting with welcoming remarks from representatives of Archipelago International and the Chairman of UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri Surabaya. This was followed by entertaining performances by the children of UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri Surabaya, after which they eagerly entered into an interactive cooking demonstration session involving the children of UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri.

During this session, the children were invited to practice cooking and beverage-making techniques guided by several chefs from ASTON Gresik Hotel & Conference Center, Favehotel Rungkut, Favehotel Sidoarjo, and NEO+ Waru. The event concluded at 1:00 PM with the distribution of gifts, photos, and a communal meal. Throughout the activities, the children had the opportunity to work alongside professional chefs who guided them through the cooking process and shared valuable insights into various culinary techniques and ingredients. The menu for the event was carefully selected to include recipes that the children enjoyed, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet. The dishes that were practiced included Nasi Goreng Kemul (Selimut In Indonesia), Fruit Punch Sparkling by Glass Pressing, Pisang Geprek, Blackcurrant Tea, Mie Nggaple, Redvelvet with Boba, Sempol Ayam, and Pandan Coffee Latte. These dishes were demonstrated directly by the Chefs and RBM (Restaurant Business Manager) from ASTON Gresik Hotel & Conference Center, Favehotel Rungkut, Favehotel Sidoarjo, and NEO+ Waru Sidoarjo.
“We hope that the provision of cooking knowledge from hotels for children at UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri can foster a sense of empowerment and build self-confidence among children, and can develop social skills, communication skills and teamwork. As additional information, since February 2023, UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri children have had a cafe business located at the Dinas Sosial Surabaya, in the cafe they have become baristas who are reliable at making coffee," said Mrs. Eva as an administrator for UPTD Kampung Anak Negeri Surabaya .
