Jakarta, December 2022 – Towards the end of 2022, many parents planned holidays for their children, starting from child-friendly tourist destinations, visiting relatives or grandparents' homes, and educational holidays that filled free time during school holidays with educational activities.
For the majority of Indonesian people who are Muslim, parents usually involve their children in Islamic Boarding School activities. However, many children refused to be included because the place was uncomfortable, learning wasn't exciting, it was awkward to get along with other participants, and so on.
Responding to this challenge, ASTON Priority Simatupang held the "Kids Muslim Camp" program with the concept of a Modern Islamic Boarding School for children aged 6 - 12 years. It was modern as participants stayed in four-star hotel rooms with top international standard services and facilities. During the event, participants enjoyed dinner, snacks, and breakfast and didn't need to worry about toiletries as each participant was provided with complete toiletries and sterile towels.
Participants were also taught Islamic good manners, an important foundation before learning more in-depth Islam. ASTON Priority Simatupang presented teachers Kang Didin (Indonesian Fairytale Warrior) and Ustadz Muhammad Andika, M.Pdi (teacher from an Integrated Islamic Elementary School), who delivered children's learning programs that were both interesting and exciting.
The children were given a special task in the Kids Muslim Camp activities to understand the character of their friends and develop friend relationships. Study time, bedtime, prayer, mealtimes, and carrying out their daytime activities were used to teach the children independence and discipline. There were rewards and prizes for children who could follow instructions well, which encouraged learning and made it more interesting.
"Holidays are more meaningful for children if filled with fun educational activities because childhood is a phase of playing and learning. This is important for parents who want to provide holiday activities for children that are also learning tools. ASTON Priority Simatupang, as a child-friendly hotel, is proud and excited to create educational activities like this Kids Camp," commented Andi Gevika Rizki, General Manager of ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center.
