Aston Batam Hotel & Residence and PT Free The Sea: Leading the Charge Against Plastic Waste

MoU Sign  PT Free The Sea dan Aston Batam Hotel & Residence

Batam, August 27, 2024 – Aston Batam Hotel & Residence is proud to announce its latest initiative for environmental sustainability through a partnership with PT Free The Sea. Aston Batam Hotel & Residence has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Free The Sea as part of its commitment to reduce plastic waste and preserve the environment.

This collaboration focuses on collecting plastic bottles from Aston Batam Hotel & Residence, which will be delivered to PT Free The Sea for recycling and processing.

To facilitate plastic bottle collection, PT Free The Sea has provided three collection points at Aston Batam Hotel & Residence: in the hotel lobby and meeting room foyer on the first floor for guests, and in the basement designated for hotel staff. This initiative aims to reduce the amount of plastic waste polluting the oceans and help protect marine ecosystems in Indonesia. The partnership is planned to last for one year as part of a long-term effort to support the communities under the PT Free The Sea umbrella in reducing plastic waste.

The MoU signing took place at the Garbera Meeting Room, Aston Batam Hotel & Residence, and was conducted by Ms. Dita Agiana, Head of Development/Director of PT Free The Sea, and Ms. Elminaliya Sandra, Executive Assistant Manager of Aston Batam Hotel & Residence.

Similarly, Ms. Elminaliya Sandra added, “We at Aston Batam Hotel & Residence are very excited about this collaboration. We believe that every small step toward environmental conservation can lead to significant change. We are committed to continuing our contribution to maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability.”

The signing event concluded with a symbolic tumpeng cutting ceremony as a gesture of gratitude and a shared commitment to implementing this environmental care program.
