From Education to Professionalism: Aston Hotels in Banten and Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Align Visions for the Future

Serang, 5 September 2024 – Aston Banten Hotels is pleased to announce its recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (Untirta), marking a significant step towards enhancing Human Resource (HR) quality through a strategic partnership between industry and academia. The MoU signing took place in the meeting room on the 4th floor of the Rectorate Building at Untirta’s Sindangsari Campus, attended by several key figures from both parties. 

 

This collaboration aims to strengthen the synergy between Aston Hotels in Banten and Untirta, with a primary focus on empowering students and enhancing competencies in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Through this partnership, both parties are committed to creating mutually beneficial programs that enhance the skills of students and the local workforce.

 

The MoU signing was attended by Untirta’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Fatah Sulaiman, ST., MT., who expressed optimism about the partnership. He was accompanied by several university leaders, including: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Asep Ridwan, ST., MT., IPU., Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Agus Sjafari, M.Si., Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Alfirano, ST., MT., Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Head of Finance and General Affairs along with the team, the Chairman of the Cooperation Working Group, the Chairman of the Public Relations Working Group, and other supporting team members.

 

In his remarks, Untirta’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Fatah Sulaiman, ST., MT., appreciated the presence of Aston Hotels’ management at the Untirta campus and emphasized the importance of collaboration in improving the quality of education and human resources. "Collaboration is a necessity because we cannot work alone," he stated.

 

This partnership includes the exchange of knowledge and expertise between academics and practitioners, which is expected to create superior and innovative human resources in the future. With the signing of this MoU, Aston Hotels in Banten and Untirta are committed to maintaining a harmonious relationship and continuing to collaborate on activities that benefit both institutions.

 

Doddy Fathurahman, Director of PT Serang Jaya Properti, PT Cilegon Jaya Properti, and PT Fave Properti, along with the management team of Aston Hotels, attended the event. He stated, "This collaboration will not only benefit both parties but also the broader community. We hope this partnership will run smoothly and sustainably, becoming an important step in empowering more competent human resources in the hospitality industry. We are committed to providing opportunities for Untirta students to gain hands-on experience, preparing them to become future professionals."
