Makassar, May 29, 2024 - This time Aston Makassar had the opportunity to visit Rumah Harapan Indonesia in Makassar as part of a social activity to celebrate Aston Makassar's 12th anniversary with the entire management team.

Rumah Harapan Indonesia (RHI) is known as a shelter for children up to 17 years old who are undergoing treatment for non-communicable diseases. Generally, patients at RHI come from financially disadvantaged families from both within and around Makassar.

"We are very grateful for the opportunity to visit and meet the children here to provide new hope for the sick children, with the hope of giving them a fresh spirit for their future routines and treatments," said Tammy Helen Rotty, General Manager of ASTON Makassar.

Helen also provided information that approximately 18 children are currently registered to stay at RHI Makassar along with their families who accompany their children's treatment. However, according to information from the foundation's management in Makassar, there have been around 300 children who have stayed at RHI Makassar in total.

"Most of the children come from outside Makassar, ranging from Parepare, Pinrang, Palopo, to Mamuju, and many more," she added.

Rumah Harapan Indonesia itself serves as a place for anyone who wants to share through Rumah Harapan Indonesia, including Aston Makassar, which this time provided assistance in the form of various milk and children's supplies provided by its team.

Furthermore, Aston Makassar also provided various coloring and learning books for the children so they can fill their spare time while at Rumah Harapan.

"There are some specific needs that are essential and beneficial for children undergoing treatment for serious illnesses, which we try to fulfill and provide to ease the burden on families in providing those needs," she added.

Helen also emphasized that this social activity serves as a reminder for all of us to support each other in alleviating various needs and to provide new hope for all families to remain optimistic in undergoing treatment so that everything can become easier.
