Semarang, January 28, 2025 – Chinese New Year is the most important celebration for the Chinese community as they welcome a new year. According to the lunar calendar, 2025 marks the beginning of the Year of the Wood Snake.

To celebrate Chinese New Year's Eve on January 28, 2025, the Chinese community follows the tradition of having a reunion dinner with their families. Aston Inn Pandanaran Semarang joined in the festivity by hosting an Imlek Dinner at Altitude Sky Lounge, located on the 12th-floor rooftop, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The event kicked off at 5:30 PM with a spectacular Barongsai (lion dance) performance by Teratai Emas at the ground floor entrance and lobby area. The Barongsai captivated and entertained guests in the lobby, both those checking in and those relaxing, as well as residents around the hotel who enjoyed the lively show.

At 6:00 PM, guests who had arrived at Altitude Sky Lounge were treated to a delightful Chinese New Year dinner with their families while enjoying the breathtaking city lights of Semarang from the rooftop. Our F&B team prepared a variety of exquisite dishes, accompanied by live music and another Barongsai performance, which added to the festive atmosphere. Guests enthusiastically watched the performance and handed out angpao (red envelopes) to the Barongsai.

To make the night even more special, lucky guests won door prizes, including hotel stay vouchers from Archipelago International properties in Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Purwokerto, Cirebon, and of course, Aston Inn Pandanaran Semarang.
